30 min deserter ban for a bug!

I joined a comp game and I could not pick my character due to the game saying the enemy’s did not pick a character but my friends said they saw they did pick a character. I never quit games or intentionally leave games. But really after 1 game I get a 30 min ban???? To a bug... Come on Hi-Rez :/
